Dead Beat Film Society

We are the Dead Beat Film Society. Every meeting someone picks an important film. We all watch the film then meet back up to discuss it. Along with a discussion of why the film is important, we analyze the film making, acting, directing, and discuss our personal thoughts and opinions.

Lemme ask you a question: Do you care about Texas?
Join the DBFS as we discuss the old leathery face of Harry Dean Stanton, Sam Shepard's genius writing, vibes, the southwest landscape, color theory of red, white and blue, peepshows, fugue state, foreigners interpretation of America, old men with young women, the very little we know about cinematography and lighting, Ry Cooder's subtle soundtrack, songs that have ruined movies, how men can ruin everything, recovery and the 12 step program, father and son relationships, roadtrips, the complete lack of confrontation or even emotion, and the similarities to David Lynch.
Go ahead and hit play for an in depth Paris, Texas film analysis!
